This song is so out of sync with everything he's done..........or is it and why?

Don't get me wrong I love it, but it just sounds so different.

I thought Harvest Moon (the album) was supposed to be a return to Harvest (the album), twenty years later. The song is a bit countrified but still couldn't be anyone else but Neil Young.

All the albums are different, he did it on purpose, artists shouldn't be making the same record over and over again.

I read an interview with him a while ago where he said he was trying to get back to his roots as he felt he was losing his musical identity.

Not sure why he feels this way - most of his albums have been different from the others. But there is certainly no mistaking that voice.

He's always made completely diffrent sorts of music - some folk, some heavy rock - he just doesn;t want to be the same all the time

Good for Neil!

He even did an album with Pearl Jam a few years back- 'Mirrorball'..Neil Young sang and played guitar with them playing the other instruments, then Pearl Jam came out with "Merkinball EP", a 2 song cd single with Neil Young guesting on it. It's actually a good album.
