Has anyone, with some spare time, loads of enthusiasm and knowledge, re-written the Topfield instruction booklet?

It has to be the worst I have ever seen.

Farcical translation into English and full of acronyms with no glossary.

A downloadable pdf file would be great.

I just pressed every button on my remote to see what happened. I don't think I have read the manual fourteen months on.

I think somebody may well have written one but I think you'll get more joy in the other place because most Toppisti don't come here any more: just a few of us old recruiting sergeants left on here.

Today I "found" a key I'd not used before. It's the Mute. Initially I took the sound output via SCART to my VHS player. Left and Right audio were brought out on phonos at that end and these were poked into my surround system. Mute didn't work in this configuration. Now though I use the L+R phonos on the Toppy so the Mute key now works. Think the Pause key will get more use though.

Some of my remote buttons are different to the ones on that guide.

Yes; that guide was written based on the foreign models, before the UK one arrived. The need to reserve some keys for interactive services meant that other things had to be shifted around.
