Yes I noticed this straight away. They are using the american format for some reason. No idea why. It's not the clear british TV we all know and love. Might be an idea to find out from C4 why they made the change. Probably costs.
Either the cameras used in the runs were bought on the cheap, or, since there were no such problems on the external shots, it suggests there might be some sort of filter or pulldown or something happening in the chain between the house and uplink.

If by the American format you're referring to NTSC, I find that unlikely. Whilst the bluriness does allude to the 30>24fps conversion it doesn't look like a result of being filmed in NTSC.

It would have to change, as they couldn't broadcast this for the Channel 4 programme, they may change it to digital clear quality as the days go on, keep watching.
I don't know any of the technical jargon but the way the picture looks on BB this year seems the same as it would all the other years if you just make your eyes go out of focus a tiny bit. I was watching the news on ITV just now and it was clear but when I made my eyes go ever so slightly out of focus it was exactly how Big Brother looks this year.
I thought we lived in an age of high definition not reversing definition. I'm certainly not a fan of it.
