Why?
on my wanadoo talk when i call landlines it come up unavalible (international?) whereas when i call mobiles it actualyl comes up with the number.
why is this?

Because your provider is passing the CLI as +44xxxxxxxx or 0044xxxxxxxx - your mobile will happily deal with it (as will BT sometimes I've noticed) and display it as expected - otherwise BT will display anything starting with the "+" or "00" as International.

but the numbers from wandoo start 08453 so why shoudl they come up as international?

It's the way Wanadoo have chosen to present them to the network - they are sending the CLI as +448453xxxxxxxx - most likely they're also putting it onto a network outwith the UK as well. As for why they're doing it that way - you'd have to ask them that one!
Conversely - you may wish to ask BT why they suppress display of valid international CLI. |
