Hello all i have a few questions to ask

1. when i send a text message somtimes they go thourgh but sometimes they just say pending this is happening quite a lot even thought i know the phone has signal who i want to send it too?

2. does virgin have any plans for a GPRS service if so when?

3. Is virgin going to change there price plan because its getting a bit out dated now compared to the other networks?

Thanks in advance Paul

I can shed some light on the GPRS part, T-Mobile will not have the service available until next year, late next year, although i use it to send MMS Since Virgin piggy back on T-Mobile's network, i would not expect them to have it until after that time.

T-Mobile do run GPRS services, they just name it "Picture Messaging" for some reason or another. However they are reluctant to roll it out to prepay as they see it as a feature to convert people to contracts.
Expect it to be rolled out once the networks realise that teenages on prepay are the most likely candidates for sending photos to each other!

GSM text messaging is apparently only guaranteed for delivery within a 14day period, although delivery is oftern well within that time frame. Beyond that network congestion and message corruption can cause failaure. (A friend who works for Orange reported that one of their "cell's" had a problem, and was corrupting a high percentage of text messages being sent/received from that node - the problem apparently took ages to discover) - you might be experiencing a local problem of this 'type'

"out dated plan" - I'm not sure what you're suggesting - but I'm very happy with the plan - it charges to the nearest 1p (as opposed to T mobiles 10/20/30 plan which has a minimum 5p call charge!). The tarriff is straightforward - I therefore know exactly what calls/texts cost. Just curious to know what makes a plan 'out-dated'?
