cheap n' cheerful dvd player with divx/region free
Hi guys!
Im in need of a simple, cheap dvd player that is region free and can play divx/xvid files from either dvdr's or cdr's. Will they be able to play standard data discs with the video files on them? I dont need any extra gubbins, just need to be able to play on a standard telly. Any recommendations appreciated!!

I'm gonna start counting how often I post the link to this thread ...

Hmm, personally i dont think i could buy that with the problems it has, plus its Amstrad
I am also looking for a Multi region DVD player that supports divx/xvid as well as video cd's, MP3's and as many other formats as possible. Also have scart and RCA minimum, Wonder if such a device exist's?

Also have scart and RCA minimum That fits the bill for "cheap'n'cheerful", surely? |

Toshiba SD360e, plays most discs you can throw at it, great picture quality and you can get it for £60-£70 online.

Wow that £20 player looks just the thing! Thanks. Sorry for not spotting it on the page
I wonder if Currys/Dixons have any in stock...did i read correctly Comet stock them to? They are nearer to me so it might be worth trying there first.Oh...and do they play other sorts of videos that ARNT divx/xvid? Or is there firmware available to "add" codecs? Or can it play standard mpg files? |

Just to let anyone know incase this gets pulled up - I bought the cyberhome 4010 from amazon instead - http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/...268066-9270830 . So far this player is OUTSTANDING! I bought it yesterday and it can play everything ive thrown at it so far...theres no sync issues like with the amstrad allegedly, you can upgrade the firmware, supports 5.1 out (coaxial) and many other features. Its tiny too, im really pleased!
