Selling a phone on ebay - help needed

I won't link to my auction as I know that's not allowed.

My question is though, how much should I expect from selling a brand new Samsung D600, unlocked and with tons of accessories?

I think I've set my price a little high at a buy it now of £175 that's all.

Cheers.

that is to much you can get it for £180 new in some places £125 for it is a good price and may sell fast

Dont put it as buy it now because you'll get some idiot scammer buying it and claiming they've sent you money using some stupid method and want you to post it. Then you have to relist it and pay to list it again.

With the usual apologies if you knew this already:

Ebay's advanced search feature allows you to search "completed listings only".

So you could search for recently sold "New D600" and see what the going rate is.

I found this feature really useful when determining whether to sell stuff, as it quickly answers the question "will it sell?"

I start all my auctions at 99p (minimises listing fees), and know that a well-written ad and photo will mean that the best price is reached. One of ebay's own tips is to start low, it encourages interest in an item, and gets bidders to bid against each other.

Hope that helps someone.

Yeah, that can happen a lot.

Use either the pre-approved bidder list or require immediate payment though and you won't have a problem.

Thanks for the tips guys. I may relist the item! There's been no bids yet anyway!

Depending how long the auction has to run, you can possibly edit the buy it now price.

Try editing the item and see if you're in time .... save you the re-list fee ....

Someone from Nigeria has bid £5 on top of the last highest bid and has ended up them winning it!

What do I do next as I specifically said I would not post out of the UK or Ireland.

Report her/him!

Is there not some way of offering it to the second highest bidder if the winner turns out to be some drop-kick?

I thought there was but I could be wrong ......

Yeah, they already do that!

Go into My eBay
Under 'My Account' click on Preferences
Under Buyer Requirements click Show, then Edit
Make sure you have checked 'Buyers in countries to which I don't ship' and 'Buyers with no credit card on file'

There's no way a Nigerian fraudster is going to have a credit card registered!

Yes, you can do that - it gives you the opportunity to notify the second highest bidder and then anyone else who is in the chain.
