Sorry but Madonna has gone too far - talk about issues I've never saw anyone who has such issues with religion, what is it with her?

Personally I think she is more concerned with shock tactics and being people go "aah what ever will she do next, isn't she amazing!" Well no is the answer she' not! Down right blasphemous is what she is!

Somebody wrote on the Gina G thread the other day that Gina G needed to start acting her age well here is another contender for the crown. I was thrilled when Madge burst back last year with possibly some of the best songs I 've heard in a while but this latest stunt of imitating Christ is a new low even for her!

Only if you happen to believe in the particular supernatural entity that she's being, um, 'disrespectful' to.

Sorry, I didn't realise that that it was a thread only for people who agree with you.

I don't believe in the mumbo jumbo, but I do think Madonna's turned into a caricature of herself and should probably give it a rest now.

I agree. Just another desperate attempt to get attention. It's not even interesting anymore.

Okay let's not argue. I didn't start a thread for people just to agree with me, I was only putting across my opinion and I know you are only putting across yours.

I'm a bit younger than her, but I really think its about time she stopped trying to be this controversial figure.

To be honest, its just boring and sooo 1980's, early 90's.

I don't get what the big deal with all this is. I'm a believer in many things holy, but in no way am I offended by madonna on a cross at her gig.

To be honest I get sick fed up of people saying they're offended by this sort of thing. I just don't understand why it's so offensive to people.

Because its a sacred image to many people who believe in it - the image of Christ on the Cross means alot to people and shouldn't be used by some 40 something in a leotard trying to get even more famous and controversial than she already is. That's what the big deal is - ok! The fact that she is only doing it for publicity is sickening!

The fact that you say u believe in many things holy yet still regard this as ok makes me wonder that you don't even aprreciate what holy means.

Well the whole incident has had it's desired effect hasn't it?
People are talking about Madonna again and that's what she wanted.

As far as I can remember I was told she was tied to a cross and had a crown of thorns on her head.

I also think she was originally a Catholic. Hope this helps.

Maradonna always claimed that God was on his side when he scored that goal, in the famous 'hand of God' incident.

oh....you meant Madonna.

i am not a xristian but i think affending people just to get attention is plain wrong,
lets face it her new album didnt do aswell in the states and
also shes not like other great singers like mariah carey whitney houston, she hasnt got a strong voice and from what i know shes always Relied on her image rather than her voice to sell records.

Madonna has not gone too far - did you read why she was on a crucifix and what was on film behind behind her and what she was trying to bring to peoples attention? No? Then I suggest you do. If I had to do the same stunt outside a famous landmark or outside Asda etc - would I manage to gain publicity to the standards that Madonna has? I think not - so well done Madonna for using your fame to bring such a sad and terrible disease to peoples attention on a wide span!

By the way I cant wait to see her in Wembley!

(Ijust copied and pasted my answer from another forum cos I cant be bothered retyping the same old thing and I know I will probably need to defend her many times over this)
