i had the same problem. you need to put your username and password in twice once for the incoming server and once again for the outgoing server. I made the mistake first time putting my username in wrong u need to put it in like this username@o2.co.uk instead of just your username.
hope that helps

If i do get the other email working ill have to setup filtering on the server though lol. i get something like 50 junk a day which are filtered when they get downloaded so the server still transfers them where with a bit of luck i configurate the server to delete them. if o2 ever reply i will tell you lol.
oh how ironic i just heard an o2 advert on tv

Just got this from o2 Quote:
Check out the O2 Online Help Centre: www.o2.co.uk/help Dear Zack, Thank you for contacting O2 Customer Service. In your email you have three queries, they are: 1) How much it cost to access your email account 2) What can you access with your free allowances 3) Is there a charge to access non O2 email account 1) You will not be charged separately if you access your email account on your mobile phone. Sending and receiving email from your phone is known as the POP3 service. POP3 is a mobile feature and not a network feature. This means that we are unable to provide any support. This does not mean this will not work, but if you experience any problems we are unable to provide any support to fix them. Please refer to your User guide or contact your manufacturer for more information. 2) You can access WAP enabled sites on your mobile phone to use up your 1 Mb GPRS WAP allowance. 3) You will not be able to access any email account on your phone, as we do not support the POP3 service. If you need further information about this matter, please reply to this email. For further details about O2, please visit our online Help Centre at: http://www.o2.co.uk/help Important - Please make sure that every time you contact us you include the following information: Your Date of Birth, Postcode, Mobile Number. Kind regards, O2 Customer Service. Getting your query right the first time you email us is very important to us. If your query has not been resolved this time, please reply to this email with the words Need More Help in the subject field and we will deal with your response as a matter of priority. O2 (UK) Limited, Registered Office: 260 Bath Road, Slough, Berkshire SL1 4DX. Registered in England No 1743099. So i think that means its free? kind of messed up my question a bit.i didnt write my email like that either i think they just summarised it. No idea what charged separatly is i dont get charged for it at all

Got this as well when i asked how much wap i had left Quote:
Dear Zack, so i take it its free up to 1mb then loads after. dont think ill ever go over 1mb. so think that should be fine
Thank you for contacting O2 Customer Service. You are not being charged for accessing your O2 webmail as you have 1Mb of GPRS WAP as your free monthly allowance. You can find out exactly how many free texts and WAP you have left on your account in any one of the following ways: 1. Call 4444 on your mobile (option two twice) free of charge from your Pay and Go mobile phone. 2. Text the keyword 'balance' to 20202 on your mobile You can also find out your Anniversary date via this number. If you do not want to call the top-up line, you can always email us to find out these details. |

Once you have used your free monthly allowance, I think you will be charged at £3 per MB used. I think this is a good rate compared to some other networks that charge more for GPRS.
