There are plenty of TVs that are HD Ready with Freeview (remembering the Freeview tuner will not, and never will, give you HD). 42" LCDs seem to be rare - I've seen 40s and 46s, but 42 seems to be only plasma. In 40" there's Samsung and Sony models which are HD Ready with Freeview.

Not sure where you are looking but they almost all do - though they will be outdated in a number of years and to me it is just another thing to go wrong.

There is a price premium for integrated DTT tuners and if that is a reason for not buying TVs or DVD recorders with them then fair enough. Otherwise I wouldn't consider not buying one with DTT. The chances are they will still be going at the switch off and in the meanitime you get the better quality and wider programme choice (all those shopping channels!
) with the extra hassle of additoinal boxes and cables. The other reason for not getting it now of course is if you cannot receive it!
