Hi.

Thanks for the reply, what i actually meant was what does the screen look like with the epg, my Sony KD-28DX40U iDTV has a preview screen in the top right hand corner (When it works) which is handy.

Where as the Sony VTX-D800U Freeview box is pretty basic looking.

I was just wondering what the Pioneer's looked like !!

Thanks
Copp3r.

Hi

There is no preview screen, it's a fairly standard EPG, but does the job.

If you use the GuidePlus EPG, then you have a preview screen.

Yes that right but remember Digital EPG can record from freeview as GuidePlus is only can work with digital via G-link -it dont work without G-link... Digital Epg that I used for record subtitles easily, i dont have problems but when you record it and kept in the hard drive -- it has preview on the screen, some other dont have.

When it record and then kept it and then you go into the listing where you record and kept it -Pioneer has the preview picture live plus it tell you how many hours left for you to record more programming.

Thanks guys.

Your help has been much appreciated. I went for a drive round all your major Electrical Retailers just yesterday to have a gander at the all the HDD/DVD’s and not one shop had any of them hooked up to a TV

How are you supposed to check out how they work and look, these shops must think that you just buy by the look or make of the box

Thanks again

the box is mixed red-white with Pioneer on it and usual marked the date from May 2006 and made in the UK -- it much new model as it released from April 2006 - mine is 540HX and Im much happy as it great recorder..

I leave digital tv tuner on and switch on Pioneer and then press "Guide" and it change over to hard drive digital EPG itself and then when Ive done then the tv change back to digital or analog tv itself - it worked itself great

So it your decide which one you want to buy new one... guid luck
