Well if Bob the Builder can then do it, then anyone can.

Sure, why not? There is a big gap in the market for an act like Lordi....

LOL.
No of course not. The last foreign eurovision act who got to #1 in the UK was Abba. |

I sincerely hope not! Hearing that on the Eurovision Song Contest was bad enough!

depends on whether it gets sustained radio airplay, if it does then there's a reasonable chance.

I can remember everyone was singing it at the time.

Nicole was a Number 1 in 1982.
I think Gina G was the last Eurovision No.1 back in 1996. |

I think and hope they could get to number one.
It'd make a change from the usual suspects. As long as not too many people think that Lordi are a true representation of Finnish metal I'd be delighted to hear them at the end of the chart show. |

Hit 40 on the commercial stations follows The Offiical Chart Company's Top 10 but then includes airplay for positions 11-40. Radio One's chart is based completely from sales.
Don't think there's a percentage difference between sales or downloads with one download equal to one CD/cassette sold (I'm kinda sure about that but hey, if somebody knows better tell us then). It'd have been better timed a week or two after the win but hey, never underestimate the power of rock fans as they haven't had much to get their teeth into (some will say The Darkness....really?). It'll probably be top ten but not number one....the chart will be crowded by football singles for the next month. |

....as you decided that you're the voice for all rock fans, type something constructive.
What do you like then? Which modern rock act has been doing it more than The Darkness? Lordi speak highly of you. |

The band were unique, the song was terrible though and not the sort of thing that would get UK radio play.
I would say it would land somewhere in the 30s. |

![]() I can't agree with that - and I still don't know why they did so well - there were numerous other songs which were far superior to "Hard Rock Hallelujah" but sadly didn't get noticed!

I doubt it'd do well in the charts, I mean, come on, who is actually going to buy it?

I put small bet (less than 50 p) on them reaching #1

I reckon it's a guaranteed number one personally...and I suspect that this is the real reason why the Gnarls Barkley song is being deleted!
(Basically, delete it to guarantee large sales and 10th week at number 1, then next week when Lordi displaces it, claim it's just because of the deletion!) (Or am I just being cynical?) |
