they just wont do it its not strictly dance fever dont think people should worry there are enough 'proper' dances for them to do 2 extra weeks - anton doing street would be funny - his main problem though is his latin is weak and is what holds him back

nothing up with argentine tango which was part of the latin dances should never have been dropped it is far better than the ballroom tango

I LOVE the ballroom Tango!

And didn't the old saying go 'It takes two to tango' rather than 'It takes two different tango dances to make a series of Strictly Come Dancing complete'?

Re: the American Smooth. Does anyone think this dance was dropped into SCD last year specifically for Anton? It was never meant to be one of the dances featuring in last years SCD according to the press release on the programme. The new dances featuring were Salsa, Argentine Tango and the Jitterbug. Yet, they dropped the jitterbug for some reason and replaced it with the American Smooth. My theory is they needed another ballroom based dance that would suit Anton (and Patsy) better. Although don't think their plan worked as didn't they get knocked out that week?!

I remember that from last year. I was expecting to see a jitterbug. At the time I was thinking it was changed to favour the male celebs dancers. I lost count of the number of times I heard how good it would be if a male celeb won and how difficult it was for the male to lead.

I thought it gave them another opportunity to further praise the male celebs.

I enjoyed the new dances they brought in. Mainly because of the American Smooth and Argentine Tango professional demos. The group salsa and training was fun to watch. Really liked the choreography for the couples American Smooth. But the group Argentine Tango was a waste as it wasn't done well.

One thing I thought was ridiculous was there being a group Viennese Waltz as well it being done as an individual dance. What was the point, other than as a time filler? They should have just stuck to the group VW.

I don't have the energy to look for the thread about which pros wil be doing the next series so I don't know if this has been said but this morning I heard that Denise Weavers David Sycamore are doing the next series. (this was from Denise's mum)

I forgot to say that I didn't quite catch whether they are both going to be in it but I'm pretty sure that Denise definitely is from what she said.

Professional Ten Dance World Champions in 1985.

Maybe they are bringing them in to counterbalance the age gaps like with Gloria and Darren.

I found that rather disconcerting myself

Somehow worked better with the older men as Karen is in her mid 30's and Izabella I think is not that young ( well she doesn't look it anyway)

Just read on the TV forum that Sarah Beeny is reported to be coming on the next series.

She's a presenter on Property Ladder and some other house programmes on channel 4.

My thoughts exactly . . . it would make sense if Bruno and Len really are going to be judging in America around the same time . . . or perhaps they're finally getting rid of Craig and Arlene. Whatever happens, I'd love to see them on the show, that would be absolutely fabulous!

Just thought I would let you know that Vincent and Flavia are doing a dance demonstration at Malvern Theatre in July, 22nd I think. The Dance at 8 company usually put on a really good evening of dancing (Black Tie) and it is worth the £12 ticket fee to see V & F.

If you are interested in going Google Dance at Eight and look at their website for details.

Craig was on Radio 4 yesterday and described how he got the judge's job. Said he was asked to comment on a number of dancers and just tell it as he saw it. He said that SCD wanted judges from different disciplines and his forte was telling a story through dance.

He said that there were going to be 14 contestants on the next series.

I think they should introduce the melangue (don't know how to spell it) and the hustle. Both are acheivable by non professionals.
Can you imagine Anton doing a gupacha (again sorry don't know how to spell it) !!!!! tehe
Or Maybe Salsa, that would be sexy and cool

I would like the couples to do a melangue and a hustle plus I think lifts should be allowed in the rouitne

guapacha (pronounced wapacha) is a latin timing and was 'made up' by the beeb for sdf so no chance of that going in

Salsa yes Milonga I dont think so

if you want lifts and stuff then call it strictly show dancing as this its meant to be the formal dances then lifts are out
