I am listening to "Clap your hand say yeah!" I really won't describe them as "never heard of" but, they aren't that popular either.

I'm rather fond of a band called Captain, but nobody I know has ever heard of them.

I'm listening to Micah P. Hinson- he's very good - pity the production of the album is over-recorded. Lemon Jelly' 'Nice Weather For Ducks'is always amusing, Stephen Fretwell, Hootie & The Blowfish,Nick Drake - fairly well-known, and Ray LaMontagne are excellent musicians. Jack Johnson's older works 'Brushfire Fairytales' from 2000 is far better than the 'In Between Dreams' [2005] album, which inevitably got him known to 'the masses'. The fairly new singer, Roger Tarry, is pretty impressive too. And of course, who can forget the excellent voice of Willy Mason?
Going onto a completely different genre area, Welcome To The North by The Music - excellent 'loud' music! |

Well, kinda depends on your region. Since the majority of you lot live in the UK, you've heard of all my favourite bands.
Captain is actually a pretty good band. |

), and I bought both 7"s of Broke in the beautiful gatefold sleeve. One of the B sides (Falling Down The Stairs or something) is beautiful. As for others, ¡Forward, Russia! (although they are more well known now, especially in Leeds) are good. As are Fell City Girl. jack |

Last.fm is great for finding music similar to what you like. Just put in artists you like, and it creates a custom station with those artists and similar ones. Fantastic quality, and I've bought so much as a result.

I'm listening to a band called Lucy De Ville, yes it is a band! They're from Down Under and their album is really good, and it's really quirky music.

shame, as ben is excellent too - but probably has some livelier, catchier tunes. saw the crimea a couple of months ago, who were fab - the album tragedy rocks really is excellent, and am quite surprised hasn't been picked up on more, as it's full of great tunes. they're that bit darker and more broody and interesting than most indie guitar bands, so it's a shame they haven't been more prominant.
