oh. erm, bollox. sorry. am on a fox t2 box. my bad, this may not apply to you guys. sorry.pressing stop recording on a programme should stop it reording.not run for ten minutes, or to the end of a programme, or even another 2 hours. stop should be stop. Not sure if we had this issue during tests with original firmware or later firmware. but had 2 channels recording and wanted to stop one to record another (pensioner parents selected both recordings when we didnt want any, big fingers, old heads and technology dont always mix), but not being able to stop the recordings meant we had to either go and have a coffee and wait, or shut the box down and restart. not great in the first half hour of 'here is your new box, and here is how it works' time.

Having come to the Hummy from a Pace Twin Digital I've found a few annoying things.
1 Why have skip and rewind buttons under that silly, flimsy slide cover? There are cursor buttons doing nothing in playback mode. Why not use them instead? 2 Why not have a dedicated library button instead of having to access recordings via the menu system? 3 The Pace shows 10 channels in each page of the EPG. Why not have the option of turning off the little picture window which is of very little use 4 On the Pace you set programmes to record using the much more logical REC button. This allows the OK to select a channel to watch. This alows you to plan your evenings recordings and select which programme to watch live from one screen, instead of having to exit the EPG and then enter the channel number manualy and the wait for the machine to switch. 5 Dump the Time bar in the EPG. The Pace manages all the functionality you need with the coloured buttons. Group selection is done from the normal live watching screen before you enter the EPG. Recording shedule has a dedicated button. I'm sure another button could be used for the find function (which I still haven't used in the 4 months I've owned the box) 6 When in the Recorded programmes page. If I press OK to select which programme to play isn't it logical that I want to watch it? Pressong OK should select the programme to view and automaticaly exit the list page I'm sure I'll remember or notice a few more annoyances in the coming months. Unless I get completely frustrated with this clunky software and change to something more functional. |

You said that in (4).Quote:

As I said, it's an old development, and newer machines might be better. If you persevere I think you'll come to like the Humax 9000s.If you don't like the remote, get a 'universal' one. I use a One For All URC-7555 which controls the Humax very well (without a flap) and four other things: though I did have to 'learn' it from the original remote. |

You don't say, but I assume you're talking about the 9000 series Humax. This being the case, you're talking about machines developed starting in 2005 - you can't expect a system developed in the early days of Freeview PVRs to be completely up-to-date.
There is a Play List button just under the cover at the top. People not used to the Humax tend to say this, but in fact it's easier to set record with OK as you can move the cursor around and set record without taking your eyes off the screen. The Pace was developed long before the 9300 and in most respects it's interface is easier to use. Why hide the list button under the flap? Surely as a primary function it should be easily accessible. In 4. I was refering to the EPG, in 6. I'm refwring to the Recording list. I tried a Logitech programmeable remote with the Pace once. It was even more frustrating than the 9300. I sent it back afeter two days. So I'm wary of third party controls now. |

Humax HDR-FOX T2 issues/wishlist
1. Option to display the time instead of channel/recording name on front display of box: Currently, the display is scrolled when it doesn't fit - this is very distracting. An even easier change which would improve matters slightly would be to scroll backwards and forwards, instead of just in one direction as currently which results in the whole display flashing from blank to filled as the text scrolls "around".
2. Hide empty folders on the media list: Empty series recording folders currently clutter the media list. Either add an option to hide empty folders, or just do it by default? 3. Allow switching to previous channel by pressing Back without having to press Info first |

We are being advised to do regular re-scans since DSO 7 & 21 March with final 18th April, keep getting re-scan message every time box is brought out of standby but dont because I will lose the recording schedule.
All this is a real annoyance at the moment Humax |

I think it was time that this thread was un-pinned and a couple of new topics pinned up for the FoxSat and FoxT2 HDR's. Top 10 wishes?
It is a pity that there is not a 'Like' button to click then we could have just 1 wish per post and see how many agreed without having to repeat over and over in replies. |

STOP AUTO-RETUNE from deleting the recording schedule even for unaffected channels.
Last night I lost all my channels (and hence all my recording schedule) because the HDR FOX T2 decided to auto-retune at 21:00 whilst recording 2 programmes even though I had re-tuned it manually earlier in the day to get the HD channels on their new channel numbers. The previous auto-retune happened whilst I was away on holiday for a week, so I lost a lot of recordings that time. |

What's most annoying is losing those programmes that have stopped broadcasting because once they aren't in the recording list you can't get them back. Also I seem to have a bad luck where programmes that previously used to have a repeat mid week, now don't so I have lost the episodes for good such as Burn Notice |

Yeah I agree it's annoying as hell. Are ALL freeview boxes the same when it comes to a re-tune ?. Do they all lose their recording schedule or is it just the Humax's that do it ?. Excellent box apart from that though

Ive had a look and to see if this has already been asked but couldnt find a similar problem mentioned. When I switch on my Humax Youview box, it starts up, I get the messages saying its nearly ready etc then I just get a blank screen. Anybody have any idea what the problem might be?
Its not the tv, I have checked that and I have taken all cables out and back in. It was working well for weeks and has just randomly stopped. |

Add an input source button to the remote control.
Make the remote a standard shape - those curves only makes it awkward to hold. Make a wider separation between the router cable input and the usb slot. Better still, put the usb slot above the router/network cable. Find out why at least 50% of YouView files can't be played. Make it possible for both box and TV to be turned on and off with a single press of just one button (as managed by just about everyone else). Enable channels in favourites to be sorted according to user preference. I also found that I had to try many different aerial cables before I found one that fitted the OUT feed properly. Most were far too tight to put on and then very difficult to remove. Edit: sorry - these should be in the wish list thread. |

The YouView facility is very unreliable and many perfectly valid files are flagged up as being in the wrong format.
There also needs to be a back button. When you play a file on a list, you are then stuck with the new suggestions which automatically appear in the right hand column. The only way to get back to the previous list is to exit the TV Portal and then re-enter YouTube and repeat the search. |

Does anybody ever look at these?
I just wondered - are these two Humax threads just for show, or does anybody at Humax even look at them?

show progress bar during fast forward/rewind skip etc
Annoying that progress bar dissapears after just a few seconds when FF though a recording to a specific time. Have to stop then start again to see where you are. Ws not like this on old 9150.

In the last week my 9300T has started wiping out my settings and planned recordings whenever the box is switched off and on again. It's as if whenever the box it turned on again it does a partial reset. I've done a default settings reset but it's made no difference. The unit is about 4 years old now but I'm not ready to part with it just yet and I have a load of stuff on there which I'd like to keep. I could keep the box turned on but where we live we suffer a lot of power cuts and my 4 year old son is forever messing with the remote.

Humax pvr 9150T/Losing scheduled recording list
Hi, I have a Humax PVR 9150T, and have had problems with my scheduled program list being wiped clean, and the screen ratio reverting back to 4.3. My Humax being the dominant player is looped through a panosonic video and then to the tv, I switched off the automatic update on the panosonic video and since then all has been well, I'm glad to say. I hope this information proves useful

The YouTube app Country setting doesn't work, so that any search results are always heavily biased towards the US. Some simple UK-based search words will only return page after page of irrelevant US content.
