You force the use of 2 tuners by manual extend when channels are different and on same mux is what I tried to say ... never mentioned same channels situation.

Humax made the right choice on this to maintain greatest viewing frexibility... I watch live telly.

If you never watch live telly then I suppose you would disagree... BUT the majority should take precedence.”

fair enough, but i'm sure the Humax guys are clever enough to have an option to 'rigorously observe padding' or something in a future release.

1. Add ability to switch to channel rather than record it.
2. Use 2nd tuner if available when surfing channels to retain buffer contents.
3. Ability to delete from recorded program list rather than having to go to record menu.
4. EPG to be saved to disk for instant access on boot (if possible)
5. More items on guide.
6. Option to have non authorised channels removed from guide automagically. ( I know I could set up favorites)
7. Option to automatically switch on subtitles when audo muted.
8. Option to removed recorded items after a certain time (month, weeks, never)
9. Multiplexor info screen so we know what is on which.
10. Option to make remind me to make a cup of tea (every half hour/ hour etc)

10.1) I forgot to mention, a 14 day guide would be great.

Thanks Marc, that's interesting - I guess that it's time to get the laptop out and use the Humax tools to apply the new loader. I'll move up to the latest firmware at the same time, although I've had no problems with 06. I've not upgraded the loader before but the firmware upgrades via the laptop have been pretty straightforward (at least compared with some of the tools that I've used with development boards).

(I have to be cautious with tweaks to this box because the wife is the main user. Hence the reluctance to upgrade unless I can justify it. This is to fix an issue that the wife wants sorting, so it gets authorised! Under the thumb? - No, just picking my battles!)

Cheers,

Sean

Yes, I was saying that I thought it used a single tuner if both channels are on the same mux, allowing you to view a channel on any other mux live with the other tuner.

And you can make it use two by manual update of one of the reservations to overlap.

that's down to the EPG provider more than Humax. They could ahve used the 4TV (?) system which is 14 dys but you don't get live upfdates as times change like you do (can) with the current system, it downloads during the night and doesn't get updated until the next night.

It seems from what some write that the 4TV EPG takes control of the PVR to do the download... which means some only download once a week!

I think the fusion has to be in standby to download the 4TV epg so if you are watching at 2 am (or whatever time it is) and refuse the switch off you don't get the update.

My wish would be to be able to transfer files transferred from the Humax using Media Elinker back to the Hiumax for replay on TV. This would allow for long term storage using an external USB hard drive.

Lol, you can't even rely on a transfer out of the Hummy and you want to put it back in..........

It would be nice if the 9200T could emulate the Top-up TV anytime software. I don't like the Thomson DTI-6300-16.

This may have been mentioned before, (too lazy to trawl thru), but removal of all on screen messages from VCR scart, a real pain when transferring

The new software bug in v10 - loss of hard disc capacity if PIP feature is used during playback - needs to be addressed. My hard disc is usually 60-80% full, and a disc reformat is rarely an option without losing recordings.

For reasons I won't bore everyone with I have to use the TV SCART when dubbing from 9200 to DVD. So I would want a configuration option to be able to suppress the OSD on that SCART output as well.

Remove the "double press of play button takes you back to the beginning of the recording" feature - it's so easy do press it twice accidentally.

Alternatively, require at least a 1 second interval between presses.

I'd like a change in the way the OK button works in the EPG. Sometimes it's difficult to tell if the highlighted program has passed, is present or is future. If it's future, pressing OK sets the record schedule, which you may not want. Why not use the Record button to set up a recording schedule (on the current or future program) and the OK button just to go to the current program.

Just wanted to highlight that the date issue is still ongoing. I leave my Humax on most of the time (to save waiting for the EPG to load) and find that every so often it starts recording items with future dates (either the next day or next week depending on what the frequency of the repeat recording is set to).

Switching the Hummy off then back on does seem to fix the problem for a while (although only a few days in the last case).

Any word on whether this is due to be fixed? - Marc? others?

Cheers

I've had no word on that Alan. In the summer Humax had two machines dedicated to replicating the bug and a couple of beta testers like me had repeat timers set up like that reported for about 6 weeks, but it was not found. If the relevant thread could be found again it would be great to capture your setup and repeat timers plus any other relevant info there.

Having used version .10 since before Christmas, my current wishlist is :
1) Single keypress to access the palylist (without sliding that stupid flap)
2) Correct synopsis for a recorded program if auto-padding is used
3) Include date & time as a sub-sort of the alpha sort

All has been fine on the latest firmware until the last few weeks.

Some records cut short and others don't record at all. This make the box unusable for scheduled records.

It seems to be worse with repeat recording.

From the program guide (with repeats in it) the scheduled recording list appears blank until the down key is pressed.

Turn the box off and on fixes this for a short time.
