dead pixels
Darklight

My 'eyes' are sensitive to dead pixels and often I cannot watch TV that has a dead pixel (usually green!) on the screen.

Last time I inquired about LCD TVs (HDTV) I was told that they would not replace a TV that had less than X dead pixels (cant remember the exact figure). Is that still the case?

Also, do TVs develop dead pixels over time and is that covered by guarantees (etc)?

Hi'

TV manufacturers have been given a dead pixel tolerance which is usually

mentioned in the user guide for the TV/Display. If they had to be perfect

there would be a world shortage of equipment.

You must have been watching an awful lot of LCD TVs then because CRT TVs don't have pixels.

If you buy online you can send the TV back for any reason within a week of receiving it (distance selling regulations) -including one dead pixel. You'll probably have to pay the postage though....

Maybe you can decode your post as I can't make head or tails out of it?
