Three are Rubbish
So I cancelled my contract in Jan and went with O2.
Basically because their customer services were rubbish, could never get a signal, etc etc. I felt the decision was justified when I had to ring up 7 times to get the code to transfer my phone over to o2, because every time I rang "their systems were down" In the end I demanded to speak to a manager then all of a sudden they could do it manually - ooh what a surprise. So since then had numerous marketing calls off them as they somehow still think i'm on their network. Which is annoying Then in May got an outstanding bill for £20ish quid. No word on what it was about so I emailed them and said whats this for - no reply. THen shortly after a "if you don't pay this within 7 days we will contact a debt collecting agency and you will be credit blacklisted letter". So I emailed again no reply didn't want to phone up cos its national call rate now I don't have a three mobile but then rang to sort it out. Rang this morning spoke to someone who promised to get someone to call me back because "their systems were down" Noone called back so rang up this afternoon got transferred to three different people. THen got told they wouldn't send me out a letter to say it was full and final payment - not too much to ask you'd think when they suddenly hit you with bills after months with no explanation. Completely lost my rag she said she'd call me back. She did actually call back and said she asked but they can't send you confirmation. I demanded to speak to a supervisor went mad at him and all of a sudden they can give you confirmation by email. So just had an email that my balance is zero and account closed and hope thats the end of it. I'm so mad though how incompetent can you get if you are going to send someone payment letters you could at least detail what the payments are for. I'm still not sure what the £20 was but tis worth it to get them off my backs ![]() Hopefully thats the end of my association with three I'm never going back. Terrible. |

Did you still have a little bit of time left on your 3 contract before the end of the 12/18 month contract? If so it could be the remainder of the termination charge.
Hope you enjoy o2. They have just been awarded the best customer service provider out of all UK networks by JD Power

It probably is but I did pay a direct debit in Jan too so am hoping I didn't double pay, I'm at uni and my bills go home so I can't check at the moment because they are locked in my file at home. But what annoyed me is the fact they never billed me for it in January (my mum opens my post with my permission and sends anything relevent up to me so I'd know if they did send me anything) then send you two letters in two weeks threatening to call in debt collectors with no explanation about what the money is for. They also don't answer your correspondence and dont apologise for the inconvenience, have a national call rate phone line unless you have a three phone and are generally unhelpful. It really peeves me when you phone get transferred to 4 different people and have to go through it all again and again while the phone bill is mounting.
O2 so far have been wonderful I actually have a phone that works and a decent signal and everything. |

Evidentally I am talking about the UK. Thus the reason i said 'UK Networks'. O2 only operate on planet Earth. There are no plans to extend coverage to other planets. |

Sorry, my mistake.
I stand corrected, as I thought you were referring to Three. Because if you were, you should have gone to Specsavers! lol |

2 years with them, no problems at all.....called customer service a few times to change various things about my packages, excellent service... girlfriends just cancelled her contract with three as the Tmobile FlexT suits her useage more, she was given PAC code straight away, and informed her final bill would be sent in the form of Bank Giro payment slip.... |

My brother-in-law, three cousins and their partners all went Three about the same time, not one of them remained with Three once their contract was up, poor company, poor service, poor network, overall one to be avoided.

Me and my girlfriend have been with three for about 7 months. Best coverage of any network in my area. Never had a single problem with them, all in all very happy and will be staying with them.

You get what you pay for, if you can't manage for 2 seconds without your phone or need your hand holding and are on to customer services every 10 minutes crying then three are not for you.
It's like getting a 1/2 price ticket on Ryanair and then complaining that a meal is not served or there's not enough room between the seats. Try comparing vodafones 3g prices compared to Three?! Do you really expect vodafone service aswell? |

In terms of cost 3 now seem to be more expensive than they used to be. My current Vodafone on-line deal gives me 200 X/Net mins + 250 SMS for £25 a month. Add the Stop The Clock feature and Passport and my bills for my usage pattern are less than the £35 a month I used to pay 3. Deals like 02's 3G package (1000 any network/anytime mins + 250 SMS for £35) and T-Mobiles Flext 35 make 3's similarly priced deals look miserable value. Just about all of the networks now give 1/2 price line rental and dealers do cashbacks on just about all new contracts. I dont belive 3 are absolute rubbish now but they still appear to generate considerably more negative feedback from users about basic issues than the others and nowadays there are very compelling deals available that makes choosing a network with a poor reputation totally unnecessary. PS: Had to book a flight the other day to London from Glasgow and was amazed at the best price on offer...... turned out to be British Airways!! I normally would'nt have bothered checking but their new pricing (which includes all taxes etc) seems to be very competitive and you get all the nice extras that the budget airlines dont provide. Pays to shop around without preconceptions
