Hi

I have a DMR-E95H unit but have also had the erase fail problem with some Panasonic DVD-Ram discs.

The fixes I found were as follows.

1. Eject the disc using the emergency eject function as follows:-

With the unit OFF, press and hold "Power", "Stop" and "Channel Up" for 5 seconds

If the unit isn't off switch off by holding down the OFF button unit the unit powers down.

2. I then copied off all the data on my PC dvd-ram drive to be safe.

3. Then I formatted the disc on my PC using the DVDForm program that came with my LG DVD writer drive.

4. I then reformatted the disc on the panasonic recorder and then disc was working as normal.

I haven't had the U99 error as yet, but I did find this page for the DMR-E85H when looking up something else.

DMR-E85H U99 error

Also formatting another problem disc on a newer DMR-EH60D which a member of my family has fixed the problem.

Hope thats of some use.

Hi

I have seen an American site with firmware updates on.

US Panasonic Firmware

Of course these aren't for the EB models (which I believe is just the code for UK models).

The best thing I would suggest, is you could try emailing Panasonic via the technical support part of the UK website and request the latest firmware for your machine.

Only one problem with upgrading the firmware is, if you have a multi region machine I expect flashing the firmware will reset it.
