I went to see Coldplay at the MEN last night and was totally blown away. They were amazing! Highlight of the show for me was when Chris started to sing the chorus to Hot In Here by Nelly during the ending of Everything's Not Lost, it was so funny

MTV sent cameras to the gig and recorded the whole thing, I don't know when it will be shown but I will definately be keeping an eye out to record it.

Anyone else been to or going to see Coldplay on this tour? If you are then you are in for a real treat

saw them at the NIA in Birmingham on Monday - and yes, they were bloody good. Idlewild were a dissapointment - sounded like they hadn't done a soundcheck, but Coldplay were excellebt.

Yeh I saw them at the NIA as well.. I'd seen them before at Glasto earlier this year and it couldn't compare to that, but it was still brilliant in a completely different way. I also agree that Idlewild were a bit poor.. there was nothing about them that leaped out at you.

Just ordered tickets to see Doves and Gomez (on seperate nights).. I don't suppose anyone knows who's supporting them? Also is anyone else going to see them?

Does anyone know what the song they did after Trouble was? It was the only non-album track they played all night and I loved it, but I have no idea what it was called. I meant to ask this in my first post but I forgot

The problem with Idlewild's performance at the MEN was that Roddy's vocals were overpowered by the instruments. He actually has an excellent voice but we could hardly hear him at times

They have been playing "One I Love" off the In My Place single on tour.

Goes something like:
Coochy Choocy Ya Ya, Come Back Together
Coochy Choocy Ya Ya, Now And Forever
[guitar: da na na na na na na na na na]
You're The One I Love
You're The One I Love
Nah Nah Naaaawah

I am so excited now. Sunday at Wembley Areana. WooHoo

someone else at my work saw them at the NIA and was saying they did a U2 cover - something which sounds like the sort of thing I would have noticed....yet can't seem to remember.

did they? which song was it?

cheers,
Iain

thats probably it then - Neil *knew it was U2 as it was the one that isn't on either album...* I did have my doubts!

Okey Dokey. Are you going to Wembley on the 20th or just watching it on MTV??

Alas no, whilst I have next week off, starting this friday its going to be a busy week for me.. Im planning on catching Coldplay next time they come around, along with the Chili Peppers, and JJ72 (who released their new album this week).. I saw all of them support U2 last year at Slane Castle and to be blunt it was f**king awesome (I was a fan of each of those bands before, but that gig just cemented my love for them)

The MTV show will be recorded, I just hope they dont butcher the gig too much!!!

Yep, I was under the impression it would be the Manchester gig which was recorded, rather than the London gig live. I also noticed they recorded a bit of Idlewild's set too

It is the MEN gig on MTV, with a 30 min interview before hand

WOW

That was the best gig I have been to!!!
They could have played all night and I still wouldn't have been board.

Good:

"When You're Beaten By Darius To Number 1, Everything's Not Lost"
The Lighting (including a big green laser)
The Videoscreens
They well and truely rocked!!
Bad:

No Cover, but then again I don't really care as they were that good!
For anyone who says Coldplay are a mellow, acoustic band, go and see them play live. They rocked so good

They started one song, which was like a hard drum beat and a guitar riff, and everyone was like "What's This?", then they suddenly changed it into "Don't Panic" and a collective "uhhh???" rose from the stadium. The suprise was so funny looking back on it

Personal highlights were "One I Love, Everything's Not Lost, GPASUYF and The Scientist (which IMO got a bigger sing along than "Yellow")"

Dan, you missed out mate.

My stupid cretinous sister turned the cable box off so I didn't manage to record the gig or interview, due to being in Paris at the time of it being shown :'(

Did I miss anything good and anyone know if it'll be repeated sometime soon?
