I'm not sure if I'm in the right place here but I'll give it a go anyway

I've just downloaded some songs to put onto my MP3 Player but I need to change them to WMA files instead of MP3 files.

Does anyone have any idea how to do this?
I would really appreciate any help

the only way I can think of is to open them in media palyer and them click 'save as' but change the file type at the bottom of the save thingyto WMA...hope this helps...

Don't WMA files take more space than mp3s? Seems a pointless exercise to me.

WMA files can be compressed more ( ie 128 kbsWMA alegedly sounds like 160kbs mp3 ) but they require more proccessor power to turn into an audio stream, so your batery life will be reduced.

if you've downloaded Official protected-WMA files (ie. ones you've paid for) then you won't be able to convert them. The only way round it is to burn them onto a disc as an audio-cd, then re-rip the disc to mp3 using mediaplayer, but quality is poorer.

Why do you need to convert? What mp3 player is it? The only ones that don't play WMA files are iPods and new Sony players.

I don't think anyone is paying attention. Katie wants to change them INTO WMA files.

She already has them as MP3 files

It's my music converter of choice as it's very straightforward to use.

You can download various other convertor software to do this. Try download.com and so a search.

You could use the copy to device function in media player, even if it incompatable with your MP3 player and then copy them off the MP3 player using windows explorer as this will remove the copy protection

Why did you want them in wma anyway? It's a terrible format
