Transferring file to PC but keeps saying 0kb after transfer?

I have tried transferring a file that shows as 1.174 gig in PVR, but after about 15mins of transferring to PC its as if their is no data in the file.

I have tried doing it twice and the program plays ok to the tv from the PVR, anyone got any ideas why its not transferring properly?

I have transferred other file without problem.

have you got odd characters set in the file names name, for examle a colon or full stop, commas etc as windows does not like these:

e.g. f1: qualifying

Remove the colon.

Just checked it on the PVR looked ok untill I clicked rename and found there was this '... after the title, so will try deleting that and give it another go tommorow.

Thanks for the tip will post back if it works.

Yep dodgy characters at the end of the title was the problem.

Deleted them and transfer was fine, pesky characters creeping into my titles, swines.

Thanks for the help Sheppy124.

I have lots of 0kb files dotted around my hard drive that I cannot delete, that I tried to transfer from Toppy to PC before realising the dodgy characters were lousing up the operation!
