Help! - V3 won't accept MMS settings
Hi all,
I've just ended a contract with O2 on a V3 and have tried to update the settings as I no longer have MMS or browser ....but ... I've tried updating this through the O2 'get settings' option on the sim card, through the O2 site, and through the Motorola site and each gives the following message when I try to update the browser... 'Exceeds maximum limit. Cannot add new MMS server profile' Can anyone help? |

I have had this problem, its nothing to worry about, This is becuase your phone has too many profiles in it.
To solove this problem, first if you can you will need to back up all your data on the phone to a computer. Then to a master clear and master reset and this will slove the problem. Then apply the MMS and WAP settings. Hope this helps. BIGDOGUK |

V3 only has 5mb of memory doesn't it? so i think you need to see how much room you have left on your phone and then see if there is room for the new settings to be downloaded. Dunno if this helps.

Don't think its a memory issue, as there's still plenty of what little memory the phone has.
As for the Master Reset, I hadn't considered that and have never tried it on any phones.....I can copy all my pics, tunes etc ...but will I lose my downloaded games? |

It's the way certain V3's are set up.
They will only accept so many settings for MMS/GPRS. But, just to be totally stupid, the firmware is set up so you can't delete any of the existing ones! Had a similar issue with the wifes phone when I got it. I was planning to hack about with anyway (to free up some more memory) so I ended up installing a bunch of phone hacking software and altering the settings using a hex editor so I could delete the existing profiles. Instructions on how to do it can be found here ... http://forums.mobiledia.com/topic27204.html ... if you're not comfortable hacking about with your phone, try a master clear/reset. |
