Is your TV fairly old ? I had the same problem on my early 90's Panasonic which effectively passed RGB signals straight to the tube - bypassing the colour, brightness and contrast controls. I too, had a sharp picture but oversaturated colours and there was no way of making any adjustments.
You could try s-video output from the Topfield if your TV can handle it otherwise I reckon you'll have to make do with setting the output to composite.
OK, you won't have quite the clarity of RGB but it should still be better than analogue.
