Contract Phones
Hi I have just turned 18 a couple of days ago and decided to order a contract phone off the Dial a phone website. I have ordered a contract on Tmobile Flext 35. At the time of ordering the phone I was told the phone would be delivered on the 6th June, however I received an email off Dial a phone yesterday explaining the phone could not be delivered on the 6th as promised as T mobile still needed to run some checks and accept the application - this is what I was expecting. However in the email from dial a phone it says they will contact me shortly to confirm a new delivery date if the application gets accepted. I have still not heard anything from them and was just wondering if someone could please answer me the following questions:
1. Does anyone have an idea of how long this authorisation takes i.e. how long will it take for Tmobile to make a decision? 2. Has anyone else had this same experience when ordering a contract phone? Thanks |

When you purchase a phone in store at places like the link or carphonewarehouse, the network make their decision there and then whilst the sales advisor is on the phone.
Don't see any reason for an undue delay, but then you are talking about dial-a phone.

Not always. Most networks have Uncoditionally Accepted, Conditionally accepted or Rejected status.
You will have been flagged up as conditionally accepted when the intial check was done. Many people flag up unconditionally accepted, thus the phone is given out straight away. If you are conditionally accepted more checks will be done on yourself. Because buying in a shop is less risky than purchasing online, there is usually a delay if the networks request information from credit agencies (and other agencies) to processing it, as it is usually done manually. Thus takes a little bit longer. |
