I've just noticed, now ITV1 are competing alongside BBC1 with a new strand of cookery programmes every Saturday morning. ITV1 are launching a new programme called 'Saturday Cooks' and 'Too Many Cooks' this Saturday morning. These new shows will air alongside BBC1's 'Saturday Kitchen'.
Why the sudden craze in cookery programmes on Saturday morning is what I want to know. Why not show a film or run a season of old comedy/old ITC shows instead.
Showing cookery shows on both BBC1 and ITV1 is awfull I think. It seems the days of Saturday morning kids shows are coming to an abrupt end

they both got free to air digital childrens channels so they must have decided to move these programs to their dedicated channels!
