Sky picture through Liteon DVDR Shocking
Hi
Still not sure if this is correct but this is the set up I have currently Sky Dish to Sky+ via AERIAL IN Sky+ RF Out to DVDR RF IN DVDR RF OUT to TV RF IN SKY+ TV SCART to DVDR SCART IN (Aux Decoder) DVDR SCART OUT (tv) to TV AV1 When I tune the channels in on the DVDR the channels via the aerial are as clear as when watching them normally but the Sky+ picture through the DVDR is not good at all, grainy and with lines across the screen. My DVDR is a Liteon brand and I've heard good things about them but within the tuner setup no matter whether I select Antenna or Cable as the TV Signal source I cannot get a good Sky+ picture through the DVDR after scanning for channels. Do I have the set up above wrong, is there something I'm missing or is it not possible to get a good Sky+ picture through the DVDR despite it being clear as bell when watched purely through the Sky+ box with no DVDR intervention? Surely it defeats the object of a DVDR if the digital quality signal of SKY+ looks like a badly aligned aerial picture when linked through it. Thanks in advance |

If you are trying to watch your Sky signal using an RF tuned channel on the DVDR, and then to AV1 on the TV, then this may be a problem as the channel frequency for the RF of Sky and the DVDR may be too close together.
However, surely you would be watching Sky by setting the DVDR to be input AV2 (input scart) and then via AV1 on the TV?? This picture should be perfect - was this how you were viewing Sky prior to the DVDR? I asume playback of a purchased DVD is perfect? Rgds, Scorp |

I had the same problem with the Liteon 5115 DVDR. Turns out scart-in is NOT RGB so the signal is poor compared to RGB. Really annoyed as my previous older Liteon 5006 did have RGB-in. I've now changed to the Liteon 5025 as this is RGB-in (and multi-region and HDD) and the picture is perfect!
