I wouldn't rate o2 as top, in my opinion Vodafone & T-Mobile have always been the best.

Orange has started to slip, although I don't have much experience of it to be honest.

o2 has always been pants for me... I've heard nothing but bad stories.

No experience of Virgin Mobile.

How many of the mobile operators customer services are still based in the UK? 3 Mobile is based in India but what about the others?

I know for sure that T-Mobile are but they have outsourced to the Phillipines for credit card payments recently.

Virgin Mobile are still based in the UK, as are Orange although again I do believe they have outsources to India. correct me if I'm wrong!

You're quite correct as far as I'm aware

I will add that Orange are definitely offshoring like crazy to the call centre from hell while O2, well, if you ring them you'll get through to the UK... but if you email them your answer seems to come from India.

Anyway,

my ratings for customer service I've received over the last 12 months or so:

T-Mobile; 10/10!

3; (via email) 10/10! ... (via telephone) 6/10

Orange; (UK call centres) 7/10 ... (Indian call centre) 0/10

O2; (via telephone) 3/10 ... (via email) -10/10

O2 are very good these days. They used to be pretty bad, but over the past year or so they have improved loads, now I can't fault them.

Never had a problem with Vodafone, T-Mobile or Virgin, again they have all been really good.

I would have said the same about Orange until recently, but they have been pretty poor on more than one occasion recently.

I have to say, whenever i've had to ring Vodafone, they've always been fantastic, although, could that change? I'm supposed to be having someone ringing me at 4.30 today .... we'll see.
