50 Htz V 60 Htz TV
Hi can anyone please tell me the differance between a 50 and 60 HTZ Tv. I have bought a new samsung LE32r41b HDTV and am unsure if it will display (if thats correct) 60 HTZ as some of my xbox 360 games will only work with a 60 HTZ TV. Can anyone explain what this is. And if you know is my TV capable
Thanks |

60Hz usually indicates an NTSC source, while PAL runs at 50Hz.
There is also a midway format called PAL 60. I am not into games consoles so I do not know why a UK bought game should only work at 60Hz. Many tv's,especially older ones may not support 60Hz. Surely a UK Xbox game should work at 50Hz as most UK tv's run in that format |

A lot of games now, and have done for a few years now require 60hz. Anyone with an Xbox 360 should have a TV that is capable of this, would be a bit silly getting the latest in video game technology for a TV that only supports 50hz (very very old TV's)
Your TV will run 60hz fine Bboy. Basically pal 60 will produce more lines than pal 50, giving a better frame rate, no reason to use pal 50 at all for games. |

I have a late 1999 Sony tv which supports 60Hz PAL and NTSC. I dont have an Xbox, but do have a PS2 and some of its games have a 60Hz option. You usually have to switch this option on per each game in a menu. There will be a 60Hz "test" in there as well. The game just try's the setting for like 6secs or whatever before it returns to 50Hz. If you got a picture during the test, you can switch 60Hz on, but if you got a blank screen, you will have to leave it switched off (game runs at 50Hz).
