Weird Phone Call
Havelock Vetinari

Can anyone help me please. Just had a strange call. It said you have a text message from **********. But there was nothing there. I done the usual 1471 to see what the heck was going on it gave me a number which I rang.
It said to hear your stored messages press 1, which I did it then said you have no stored messages.
The number from the text message isn't one I know.
The number I rang to check them is 07953 966*** as the last three are for my number so it seems.
Does anyone know which phone company this service belongs to please?

Try this

http://www.google.com/search?sourcei...2207953+966%22

It seems that it's kosher(ish) but you'll need the full number to find out which provider is trying to contact you.

Numbers beginning 07953 were originally supplied by t-mobile, but with people porting numbers nowadays, it could now be assigned to any network.

My g/f used to send text messages to my landline, it was weird having Tom Baker saying "he loves me and can't wait for tonight"

Just someone sending you a text message, it will be someone on T-Mobile, Virgin, easyMobile or any other of the virtuals who use the T-Mobile network, as they don't use the BT system that other mobile and landline operators use.

It won't call you back again, as it has successfully delivered you the message, even if it was a blank message.

Though always a stupid thing to do is call back a number you don't recognise, especially one thats charged at mobile rates.

The BT service uses an 0845 number CLI, the T-Mobile version uses a T-Mobile number.
