I have some speakers lying around and im wondering if i can connect them to my tv. Im not too bothered if the sound is great. On the back of the tv, there are audio phono's. Can i attach a phono to the speaker wire than attach to the tv?

No, Phono sockets are at too low a level to drive speakers.
You have to suss out if they are inputs or outputs as well, if they are outputs you can connect them to the AUX input of an amp and drive the speakers from that.
Check the TV user manual or specs to find out what the phono sockets are for.

Look for the manual \specs for the TV. Some TV's used phono sockets for direct speaker outputs.

Yes, you'll need an amplifier to connect your speakers to. Connect the phono outputs to an aux input on the amplifier.

It would be a good idea to check the power handling characteristics of the speakers, and buy an amp with an output that matches those characteristics.

They may do, but they will most likely be so queit you'd have to tape them to the side of your head to be any good.

Not sure what impedence the phono outputs would be designed to work with, but there is a danger you could blow the output stage of the TVs audio - at least kill the ability to use the phonos.
