Who covered this song?

A post I made earlier made me think of this, so can anyone help?

I have a single (on vinyl with black paper sleeve and silver? writing, no artwork) from the early 1990's which is a cover of the Christopher Cross song Ride Like the Wind, but I can't for the life of me remember who covered it.

As the single is at my mums house and I am not, I can't go check so I was hoping someone might remember who it was that covered it.

Its a slightly upbeat dancey version and is definitely NOT Saxon, which, following some web searches is the only reference I can find to any covers of this song.

So, someone other than myself must remember this - who covered it?

Are you thinking of East Side Beat? That was a pretty good cover imo.

That's the fella!
You are the angel of the Digital Spy forums!

Its actually one of my most favourite songs ever - possibly even in my top 10! Although I don't even think I've head the original...

Thank you again for solving this conundrum before bedtime

You're welcome Bex

Have you ever seen Christopher Cross?. His voice sounds like it's coming from some slightly-built guy, but actually he's built like Rik Waller (if anyone remembers him! )

I never have. I imagine he might have a beard but then I think I may be confusing him with Kris Kristofferson

I think I will google Cristopher Cross again and try to find a pic...

*edit* I found his official website and I see what you mean - he looks very unassuming - more like the roadie than the star - I'll have to try and find the original somewhere...
