I would save my pennies and buy a proper HD-DVD or even Blu-ray player later this year/early next. Unless you are willing to spend a lot of money on a high end DVD player with upscaling there is not a huge difference in the sub £200 range.

There isnt any High Definition DVD players in this country yet. There is an Asian format but by all accounts it is very poor and will only be compatable with the small number of releases the company themselves make. The first HD-DVD players are now being released in the states but are around the £600 mark (plus being first generation will likely be full of bugs. Blu-Ray which is the competing format to HD-DVD is due end of this year but may be delayed.
The only real option you have here at the moment is to get a SD definition DVD player with built in upscaling. It may be worth while waiting until HD really comes out but if you want to get it now and can stretch the budget then I personally would recommend the Denon DVD-1920 http://www.pricerunner.co.uk/sound-a...0&ref=redirect |
