Yeah, love Ash.
I find her a genuine and honest person, and I don't mean genuine as in "she doesn't have a game plan", I don't think she does but if she did so what, its a gameshow. Shes genuine in that she doesn't pretend to be what shes not, what you see is what you get. Some people don't like what they see, fair enough, but she ain't going to change herself because of it.
She is also, along with Pete and sometimes Richard, one of the few intentionally funny HMs in there. She has a down to earth and self-depracating humour which I find attractive and refreshing. The BB house would be a far more boring place without her.
And while she does bitch, she does so less than any of the female housemates bar Susie and any of the male housemates bar Pete or Glyn. When she does bitch it is for the reasons we all bitch, because we think that someone is being fake (shes usually right) or someone has wronged her or a friend (again, usually right). She doesn't bitch because she doesn't like how someone looks or because someone dares to be nice to someone she can't be bothered being nice to (what the plastics like to call "arselicking"). And even when she is catty her humour shines though. What bothers me so much about the plastics isn't simply that they only ever have one conversation "We're so great and everyone else is a ******* ****" but that they are so humourless about it. After all that bitching I cannot think of one funny thing they have ever said. Despite the fact that if you made a compilation of all Ashs bitching in thehouse, it wouldn't last as long as just one of the plastics bitchfests she has still given as such classics as "ding dong the witch is dead...", "I'm sure it was a landslide" and "I want to go to sleep but I've got nothing to laught at", all of which made me LOL.
On several occasions Ash has shown a sincere compassion and sensitivity towards other housemates which has been sorely missing in many of the others(the sam/tampax incident, glyn at the dinner table, her behaviour during sams eviction. Anyone who saw her during the late night chat with Sam and still thinks the girl is fake should be supporting her for an oscar rather than for BB winner. The girl is willing to stand up for herself, and more so, for her friends. When she was told by Lea what the plastics had been saying about her she took it in good humour, yet when Grace attacked Susie, well we all know what happened next.
Sure, the girl has flaws and she has slipped up. I was disappointed when she spoke to Pete after Lagergate and I truly wish she could see through some of the other people in the house, specifically Lea and Richard. But at the end of the day do we want real, flawed human beings in the BB house, or do we want a dozen Susies?
