I'd say Nikki (despite having a deal for a TV show with Channel 4 at the time) received fairly bad edits after she re-entered the house.
They never had very much of a rivalry at all, from what I recall. It was the fans.”

I don't want it spoiled by All Stars.
I believe one of the reasons Aisleyne became quite so popular was - besides being an engaging character - her opposition to "the bad guys" (and, to a much lesser extent, friendliness with "the good guys").
Aisleyne is no demure fence-sitter, and despite her anti-Grace credentials, was still very unpopular for most of the series with a lot of the audience (or so it seemed). I'm worried that, without a bigger, more unpopular gob around, a forthright thinker with a bit of an attitude like Aisleyne could look like (or even be) "the bad guy".
Plus the very idea of All Stars is quite ugly, imo. (And I'm unsure if my love for Aisleyne is strong enough to counter my hate for Nikki and Vanessa Feltz combined.)”
I agree more with your second post, than the first one you wrote. Even though Aisleyne and Nikki are on civil terms, I still think there is a bit of tension there that isn't restricted to just their fans.
On your second point, I believe one of the reasons Aisleyne became so popular was because of how she stood up to and for certain housemates and for herself. It was all about the unique set of circumstances she found herself in and the way she reacted that allowed Aisleyne to shine that year.
I don't want to do her a disservice but I'm not sure she has the capacity to shine without those factors. She's not a naturally engaging or entertaining character like the two Brians or Nadia (not that I necessarily like them you undersatand). Aisleyne made such an impact because of the obstacles she overcame and the storylines she was immersed in. A two week stint where nothing much will happen and most of the returning housemates will be careful not to put a foot wrong, I just fear she might disappear.
But I will still be here, championing her regardless!
