Digital Cameras
Do they have to have a memory card in them before the pc detects the cam as a removable drive?

They usually have a small usuable inbuilt memory which can be detected.

my pc is running XP but wont detect the cam and i'm doing what the manual says, it doesn't say you have to have a memory card installed but i suspect my model of cam does need one in it

Is the camera set to "playback" mode?
Check the connections - make sure the camera is directly connected to one of the USB sockets on the computer. When the software finished installing, did you do a Restart? Dave |
