What type of phone (mobile or landline) and where did you purchase it from?

Under 28 days you're entitled to an exchange.

They should swap it like for like within 28 days. If it was within 14 days you could have changed it for a different model.

I used to work for Carphone Warehouse ('til 2 months ago) so things may have changed. They are now trying to lessen the time that they will exchange any faulty item they sold you. They were testing in one area only exchanging within 7 days.

Hope you get your exchange.

It's under guarantee, you won't need to pay, in any case.

The only way you will need to pay is if you have got water into it or there is any sign of accidental damage.
