You could still CPS your landline calls and get two lots of free evening and weekend calls.

You might want to make a call whilst the other half is nattering away about nothing to someone on the other line.

I see what you mean in a way. I also dont like the idea of line rental for another company and any case I get BT broadband and BT bill me. So I cant really move from BT to someone else for my line rental.

You won't get line rental from anyone else, this is CPS not WLR.

Your BT line rental remains with BT, you can still get all the benefits of having a BT line, such as your BT broadband and any extras on your BT bill etc.

CPS just routes your calls automatically via in this case Primus, you pay NOTHING per month to Primus and you get free evening and weekend calls, as your line rental is still with BT you can route any calls you want back over BT by dialling 1280 first, or use 18185 and 1899 for cheaper daytime and international calls.

Any chargable calls will be billed by Primus, unless you place them back on to BT or the sensible choice for daytime calls is via 1899 as they charge just 3 pence for the entire call.

As your line rental is still with BT, you are a BT customer and as said above everything else remains as now.

I was crazy when I trusted one.tel, Tele2 and JustDial Saver with my CPS calls. Never doing that again.

.........all well and good, *IF* you can get Primus to take your line. After 4 attempts I gave up.

Too much hassle to save a few pence.

One.Tel yes when they became part of British Gas and now CPW.

The vast majority of people have no problems whatsoever, I've yet to know anyone who has a problem, and certainly no problems I've heard of with Primus.

Not true. I've had probs with Primus. And I wasn't even a customer - just a prospective customer!

I will think about it as I did have Tiscali for calls but they made one or two billing mistakes and that sort of put me off moving from BT again. Thats why I got everything from BT now.

You must just be unlucky, BT must like you that they are screwing you around when you try and switch.

Though BT did disconnect me from my CPS because they thought I wanted to comeback to them, I made sure from that day other than line rental the BT scum wouldn't get any of my calls.

You're the only person I've heard of, and that sounds like it was BT screwing around.

God, you hate BT don't you? Whats your issue with them? They suit me fine, and millions of others..... You may be on a mission to get people to change, but I'm on a mission to inform people that cheaper is not always best.

I'm not with BT anymore, as I'm VoIP over Telewest broadband, but when BT removed my CPS because they thought I might want to come back to them when they switched everyone on base line rental to together 1, I made sure I wouldn't have any of their services other than line rental, just can't trust BT.

I can also look at my BT bill online before I comes though the door.

You still can do that, look at your BT bill.

You only need to use Primus for the free calls, so you won't ever get billed by Primus if you are sensible.

Daytime calls you can put through 1899, they show up online within minutes.

Other calls you can put back over BT.

At the end of the day, it is up to you whether you prefer everything on one bill and pay the high premium for that or want to make the best savings.

Don't believe all that BexTech tells you. VOIP is not always great... if anyone calls you they have to phone an 05xx number, which isn't included in any landline or mobile tariffs allowances. It's like calling an 0870 number! I won't phone a VOIP phone like that either.

There is nowt wrong with BT.

What a load of old rubbish.

Want to give my VoIP numbers a call? None of them are 0560 numbers. They are all 01 or 02 numbers.

Please refrain from posting such nonesense!!!

Call my number and if you use 1899 it's 3p per call, or if you have inclusive numbers it is free.

Just because BTs VoIP service issues you with 0560 numbers doesn't mean proper VoIp Services do to.

So if people want to call me, they don't call an 0560 number because I don't have one, they can call my 0121, 020, 0151 and o

Sorry - not a 1899 customer, and never will be

Hey, you have your opinions, and I have mine. Does not make my arguments any less valid.

BT service charges maybe a little dear but BT have been 98% fine with me. My new BT broadband Talk service witch will start this week once I get my updated router sent and will start with an 05 number. I will only use the BT Broadband Talk for the free evening and weekend calls I think and only tell people to phone that number if they cant get though on my normal BT number which will not happen to offten.

You are entitled to have opinions and they don't have to be the same as mine, but you can't just post things that aren't true.

You shouldn't post that VoIP isn't great because you have to call a 0560 number, when this isn't true at all, most providers supply you with a proper 01 or 02 number, granted BT supply with an 0560 number, but most people who use VoIP use suppliers that issue proper numbers, even Vonage and FreeTalk issue proper numbers, as does my main provider Sipgate.

I have a VoIP Stunt, VoIP Cheap and SIP Discount services all three with 0121 numbers.

It is possible to port your BT number to VoIP so you could be calling someone on what you think is a landline number, but in reality is now VoIP.

Was an example, I can give you my VoIP number and you will see it is not an 0560 number but a proper 01 number, you can call it from BT and as it's a normal number you will be charged at normal BT rates for a local/national geo number.

They switched me back to BT without my knowledge it was only when I got a letter from my CPS provider that I knew what was happening, BT were quick enough to switch me back to them, but made me wait 20 days to switch back to my CPS.

How much dose it cost to phone an 05 number just out of interest.
