DVR44HX and Guideplus

Does anyone know of a way to stop this device from downloading the guide+ epg during the daytime ? The manual only mentions 3-5am, but mine comes on from 7-9pm and also at 2pm (?). If there is no TV on in the room the device is really noisy.

Alternatively, is there a way of turning off the EPG downloads altogether, but still allow the device to control my cable box via the g-link lead ? That way I can just set video+ or manual timers. I tried taking my postcode out, but that seems to disable the timer record button

I leave it on with automatic download as I own 540HX - I know it quite noisy but it good to let you know it being to update lates software firmware plus extra new channels - I rather leave the recorder at automatic instead of manually - you can turn to manually as you can do yourself for update.

Go to setup screen and turn the download with automatic as default then change to manual then it wont download again but you have to remember to update yerself next time. Download is depend on time and date when it release for new software from Pioneer

Actually I tried removing the postcode again and it seems to work ok now. Not sure what I did wrong last time.
