Hi,

Is it safe to leave the topfield on standby mode all the time when not in use, as I have to reset the clock if powered down?

Will it overheat in standby mode?

Also I have heard that never leave euipment in standby mode as energy will be consumed? Problem is I will be facing the above clock problems if powered down?

Regards

The Toppy doesn't use much power in standby; it's perfectly safe to leave it like that - that's what most users do. The hard drive is powered down, as is most of the rest of the system, so there's no heat.

Of course if you really do need to turn your Toppy off at the mains. When you next turn on and come out of standby the clock will set automatically as the time is transmitted along with the channels.

but only if you turn the toppy off at the mains when its not in standby - if the toppy is in standby when it loses power, and then the power comes back on - the clock and timers wont work.
