vodafone UK
Does anyone know why Vodafone mobile phones display 'vodafone UK' and not 'Vodafone UK' or 'Vodafone'?
Rather a strange question but ive always wondered. Can you tell im bored? |

My old Ericsson GA628 displays 'UK VODA' and my old Vodafone MN1 simply shows 'VODAFONE'.
I've wondered why the 'V' isn't capitalised, though. |

It really depends on when the phone was made. It has changed over the years. The addition on UK is to show that you are on Vodafone's UK network as Vodafone is available in many other countries. This is important when roaming or if you are near a border area as happens in Northern Ireland or parts of the channel coast where the phone roams on to a non UK (Vodafone) network. Could save you money if you notice!

Can understand why the UK is in capitals and why its there in the first place. But maybe the "vodafone" in lower case is a branding thing!?
