iTunes and iPod

Hi, wondering if anyone would be able to direct me to a website, or just tell me how to transfer my music from my old iPod to my new one?

Thanks a lot

I don't use iTunes but RedChair's Anapod Explorer instead (http://www.redchairsoftware.com). This tool certainly allows to transfer music (or videos, or pictures, or whatnot) in either direction, in and out your iPod.

Oh, and you won't need stupid iTunes anymore.

You mean that you don't have your iTunes library as your primary source of music, which seamlessly gets copied (if you want) to any iPod you connect to your computer?

No, I mean that I am getting a new iPod, and I want to transfer all the music that was on my old iPod to the new one.

Move all the tracks from your iPod back into your iTunes library (which should already have all the tracks in anyway) and then put them on your new iPod.

OK, thanks. When you say "then put them on your new iPod," do you mean via iTunes, or via the hidden folder?

What I mean is that surely you still have a full iTunes library on your computer, no?

You put the music on your new iPod in exactly the same way that you put it on your old one - using iTunes.

Via iTunes. If you put the tracks on your current iPod through iTunes then those tracks should still be in your iTunes library and ready to be put onto your new iPod.

Thanks for the replies. I was just checking because I was sure someone told me once that if you plug in an empty iPod to your PC, it replaces the iTunes library with the music on the iPod (none). Ie. removes music from the library.

its the other way around. If you plug in a (full) ipod into your PC and iTunes has no tracks, it will empty your ipod

Scroll down to "Get the tunes off with a PC" - there are links to some free software.

Thanks, I knew I had heard something like that.
