You can be charged with assault, but are the perpetrators of the nuisance calls going to take any action?

It's work for me when I tell companies to stop phoning and they don't, they soon stop when one of them can no longer hear.

sorry, whats illegal?

Also, the person hasnt called, there is a good reason behind this as now we have got her number, using our own method , now i will have to wait till the police comes so we can give a statement and when they ask "do we suspect anyone?" thats when we will break it to them

But playing the banjo at them just doesn't have the desired effect.

Its probably illegal to make abusive and prank calls...They make the choice they take the risk..Sorry no sympathy.

It's not illegal to get ear-splitting feedback accidentally though

Just blast The brown note, down the phone.According to an urban legend, is an infrasonic frequency that causes humans to lose control of their bowels due to resonance. Effective frequencies are reportedly between 5 and 9 Hz, below the audible range for humans (humans cannot hear below around 20 Hz).

ok it may not workbeing a urban myth but if the person instantly shat themselves at the other end of the phone they wouldnt ring u up again.

I know what you mean it iant good people harrasing on the phones we had someone do that to my flat amte for days and days and she was going a bit mad with it all so i blasted a double horned air horn down the phone at them, they never called back. Served them right .

Not going to work on any regular phone though - the frequencies carried are in a band something like 200Hz to 4kHz

What's the person going to say? Oh yeah I've been making prank phone calls and the b**tard deafened me. Then again if someone robbed you and you hit them, you would be done for assault. I forgot about the hypocrisy of British laws

They tried this with something like a 5000w sound system on Mythbusters, one of the guys had a nappie on, but it didn't work...

It's a myth!
