I have just downloaded it. I was forced actually because I had an on-screen message this morning saying that my previous version had expired. I haven't had a thorough look an the new version yet but I was pleased to see that it retained all of the settings and timers from the old version.

Hi guys, my boyfriend downloaded this new version today when the old one expired. Every few minutes a message box pops up and says 'loading', then 'Searching'. Its getting quite annoying. Is there anyway to stop this in the options? Or is this a permanent thing with this new version?

Hi

I had that too...

You need to change option H4 - EPG Data reload frequency for EPG Data, from 5mins. I've set mine to 24hrs which hopefully will be ok as the data is loaded at switch on.

Hope that helps.

Thanks Hal, thats a massive help. I also notice that option H6 allows you to hide the load/search message that comes on when its searching.

Thanks for replying

Glad to have helped.

I expect it needs to reload the data when searching but as mine gets the epg data from Jag's csv I decided it didn't need to reload it very often.......

Well!!!!!!!! Imagine my surprise when 4.03 expired being as I am 4000miles away from my Toppy with no hope of SWMBO reinstalling 4.5. All my timers gone and more importantly all her timers gone and the guide reverting back to the vanilla version, can you feel the heat from here?

Well I think if BobD and his team intend putting an expiry on their creation they could have at least put the expiry date in the readme file.

Time now for a "trial" version of mystuff and a fully paid version with no expiry! It's obviously their ultimate aim and at least users will be aware of the time limits

Mmm, I wonder if EPGnavigator's any good?

I don't think V4.03 has expired, it would have been cutting things a bit fine on the release of the new version if it did.

I suspect it may have been the Out of Date message for the EPG or something.

Before we all go off on one, perhaps someone could pop over to www.toppy.org.uk and ask the question in the MyStuff thread (I can't because my work proxy won't allow me to access the Toppy site).

BTW V.4.5 is excellent.

4.03 has expired; BobD has posted a message explaining the situation - he'd forgotten about the date, and been working hard on 4.5; it was a coincidence the two things happened at the same time.

EPG Navigator is very good, in my view, though you'd need to use something else for automatic timers, like UK Auto Scheduler.

Nigel.

There is no activation key required, and donations are entirely voluntary
