New contract - unable to receive calls!
Got new contract phone yesterday, and have been able to text and call without problems, however I am unable to receive calls or text?
Called T mobile tonight, and asked them if they could sort it but they said they wanted to speak to the "account holder" my girlfriend, who aint here!! I need this sorting asap. Any advice would be nice. thanks |

Lie and put on a squeaky voice. I can easily get mistaken for a woman on the phone.

I got a new contract phone recently and sometimes it can take up to 24 hours for the phone/contract account to become fully active, as a result you might not be able to make phone calls etc for the first 24 hours. However it doesnt seem like that because you have been able to send texts and stuff. I suppose the only way around it is to either get your girlfriend to email or phone T-mobile as you dont have to ring from the phone that you need to discuss. What actually happens when someone tries to call you when your phone is on?

With my mate it was the network, all it took was a call. On a different note i had a simillar problem when i took out a contract on "3" it took 4days for the line to be connected then another 4days because they had started using a new phone code & when anyone tried to call me they got told the number was invalid, apparantly "3" didnt tell the other networks about then new dialling code(now why doesnt that suprise me)

Well from the message people receive when trying to ring you I would say its a network thing because thats the exact message people heard when trying to ring me before my contract became active.

it may be that the network you're using have recently activated you 5 digit prefix, eg. 07777 and that the other networks systems have not been updated to show this is a valid prefix, this is the case with the 07894 prefix on o2, vodaphone and another network couldnt recognise this so they had to update their systems.
have u tried making and receving a call from another T-Mobile number, if this works then its more than likely that fault described above. |

I took out a T-Mobile contract with Carphone Warehouse Online they sent out the phone and sim and it wasn't active then i phoned them up and they said it could be active within 24 hours. I phoned up T-Mobile who said it was registered to someone else but how could it be if when you called it you were getting the incorrect number message?
So a day later after about 25 calls to CPW they had no record of it getting activated and they sent a signal to it and then i waited 24 hours again and it still never worked so they sent out a replacement sim which never worked either and i phoned up T-Mobile they said it was an old PAYG number but they had a message saying that CPW had declined the connection. So they sent out a replacement phone and sim this never worked and i phoned them up this must have been about the 50th call as they kept cutting me off alot and i kept getting told different things everytime ![]() I phoned up T-Mobile and they said i cant get an additional line (as this was an additional line i was gonig to get for my brother and he was gonig to pay me the money for the monthly fee) until i've had my contract for 3 months and paid the bill all they times so i'm just waiting to phone CPW up when i get the chance. Why do they send out the phone if you cant get a contract?? What would they do if i never sent it back? Would they still think im paying T-Mobile rental? |
