A lot of Americans would be lucky to be described as the sharpest spoon in the drawer!!!

Sadly this is not limited to American Uni students. Our British lot arent much better. The last 20 years or so has bred a generation with only two points of reference:
The immediate world within thier sight, and the 'outside world' as represented by the wealth and celebrity worshipping media.

I can't believe this has pathetically turned into a cliche anti-American discussion. I think the most stupid and real joke is that is some of us British believe the jokes Americans say about themselves is reality.

Every criticism in this thread about Americans I can easily find similar examples of us Brits, or any other nationality for that matter.

I mean:
"58% thought that that the UK only had 2 TV channels, BBC1 BBC2"

How pathetic.. you think this stuff is real?

Ok you oh so clever people. Without looking up on the internet, how many TV channels does Peru have? What about Guyana?

Two words:

and...

the morons who buy her book

i can appreciate the america bashing.....its inevitable....

however, in the same vein, how much do the british uni students know about world politics/ geogrpahy/ history?

dimogen apparently has a degree....she doesnt know what 'malice' means. do you think she knows which state bill clinton hails from?

glyn doesnt know what 'incorporate' means. do you think he knows PERCY L. SPENCER from Maine, USA invented the microwave? c'mon, he only recently found out what an oven is!

mikeh apparently has a degree as well. tsk. the guy cant make conversation to save his life.....do you think he could tell us that the capital of Fiji is Suva?

for that matter, how many non BB graduates can answer the questions above?

lets not get too bigheaded....whilst the american president sucks and his policies suck, i think slating ALL americans on the basis of some stupid test is quite silly.

heaven forbid they do find out more about british life/people/customs/behaviour.

To be fair to me that's not why I started this thread. It was started to demonstrate the stupidity of two British HMs

Firstly he's not real and secondly if he was real he wouldn't have been King of England cos England means Land of the Angles. The Angles and Saxons were the people who Arthur would have been fighting against if he was real

ummmm..... Arkansas :P

The true sad part is if you compare American knowledge of Canada (their Neighbour) vs Canadian knowledge of Americans. Proven fact is that most Americans don't know that Canada has a Prime Minister, let alone his name (Paul Martin BTW) when asked a majority of Americans think that Canada's political leader is George Dubbya Bush. Canadian students learn American Geography, History, Current events etc. however I do not believe American students are taught anything about Canada other than it is full of Draft Dodgers.
