And yep Serbia and Montenegro have split after a referendum in Montenegro succeeded.

King Arthur was in fact the great great great great great great grandfather of Clive Owen. He was a legendary Canadian King who sent his Knights (Lancepercival and Sir David of Bekenham) to search for the Holy Grail (a cup that some belive was used to hold the blood of geri halliwell) He was defeated in battle by Moby, his half brother, and the legend says he will return one day to save British Columbia from the Dutch.

At least thats what a 19 year old uni student just told me.

Speaking of Ontario is it right that something like a third of the total population of Canada lives in the province of Ontario

The true sad part is if you compare American knowledge of Canada (their Neighbour) vs Canadian knowledge of Americans. Proven fact is that most Americans don't know that Canada has a Prime Minister, let alone his name (Paul Martin BTW) when asked a majority of Americans think that Canada's political leader is George Dubbya Bush. Canadian students learn American Geography, History, Current events etc. however I do not believe American students are taught anything about Canada other than it is full of Draft Dodgers.”

I knew an English girl (graduate) that thought you needed a passport to travel to Scotland - its not just the yanks that have pitiful knowledge of their own country and their neighbours.

actually I would have though it was slightly higher but yes it is highly populated compared to the other Provinces, and what most don't realise is you can put all of UK in Ontario and have space left over, but still people constantly ask me if I know their Uncle Bob who lives in Vancouver lmao

Anyhow, Nennius mentions him in the 9th century, which is hardly any later after Arthur than the canonical gospels were written after Christ.”

Well, I'm not sure if it is proof as such but it does mention how he first showed up in Welsh literature (Black book of carmarthen), and I remember reading somewhere that Merlin was a real person, just that his real name was myrddin and that carmarthen is named after him

Richard has said stupid things a while back, he said the moon caused gravity and the Earth was a dead sun.

As I've said before the original point of this thread was to demonstrate the stupidity of two Brits but it was kind of hijacked for which I apologise

the dead sun bit is a curious idea....although most things known about the solar system/universe/galaxy is pretty hit and miss....

as for the gravity question....what do you think causes/caused gravity?

to what degree if any does the moon affect gravity?

I was very amused when I heard a couple of guys on my train taking the piss out of their friend because he was visiting Scotland (from London) and had asked them about getting his money changed to Scottish money.

It really makes me wonder why people insist on saying Americans are thick and badly educated. If this is so then how come they are the most technologically advanced nation on earth?

Never seen SM in concert. I first heard her songs during episodes of Due South and I had to accuse some Canadians her name cos the end titles went by too quick

I can't stand CD if only for the fact that she did the theme to that vile film Titanic
