Sorry but that whine from Titanic and that awful row from Robin Hood are enough to make me ashamed that they are part of the commonwealth. As good as you think SM is it is nowhere near to making up for it.
The only thing in their favour it that CD is from the French bit

My post was to show that there are 'moderately intelligent' people all over the globe that really don't have a clue about geography and the demographic layout of the world as a whole.

If I could of found a clip of a Argentinian interviewer asking Russians to point out Morroco on a map with Japan marked as Morroco would I be classed as anti-Russian for example?

How pathetic.. you think this stuff is real?

Ok you oh so clever people. Without looking up on the internet, how many TV channels does Peru have? What about Guyana?

How many Brits know how many TV channels we have?
Also, how many do Australia or Canada have? Can you name any?

Cheers for that. I am an American as well and I am so tired of the cliches. I've had a passport since I was 8 months old, have lived abroad twice, speak another language than English and can tell you the capitals of most places. Can all Brits name the state capitals in the USA? You'd be surprised how many educated Brits I've had to tell there are 50 states, not 52. Look at the flag, count the stars and you have a clue. Also, you Brits are SO cultured and well-behaved-- is that why you came tops in a poll of world's worst tourists? Americans were second best, behind the Germans.

Hmm, generalisation is always so effective when fighting against generalisation...

I think the TV channel question is ridiculous. Why would or even should anyone know of another countries TV channels?

And I think you'd be surprised how many Brits still think that New York is the capital of the US

As for states what is the current constitutional status of Puerto Rico???

Puerto Rico, is a US territory. They are American Citizens but they have their own government and all of that. I don't know if they can vote in our elections, but an an emigrant to the UD from PR can vote once they settle in the US. A while ago, there was supposed to be a referendum on independence from the US, but the Puerto Ricans voted it down, I guess for economic reasons. The US part of Guam and American Samoa have pretty much the same deal.

So technically a Puerto Rican could become US President without having to have a constitutional amendment??

Ah, but just because people cannot receive them doesn't mean we don't have them....

I'm not having a go at you, just pointing out that it is a dumb question to use while trying to make out that American's are thick..
