If its like the 750i it shows the GPRS signal is available.

The battery cover is a bugger to get off and I don't like the lanyard...its too chunky. Apart from that

Mine came today, wicked little thing it is!!

But how do I activate the 3g? I've been onto o2 and they reckon it's on, but should there be a logo on the screen? 3G is different to GPRS right?

Am looking forward to playing with mine tomorrow. Got 400 minutes and 150 texts for £25, and I probably could have got a better deal, but I'll have to barter bertter next time. Anyway, the handset was free, and I would never ever pay for an upgrade.

Anyhow, although O2 provide us with a nice way of tracking my shipment through DHL, you'd think they'd get the URL right - they must send this email to millions of customers, I can't believe they haven't noticed.

It reads..

To track your order, visit: http://www.dhlgroup.co.uk/

Still pretty unsatisfied with O2 though. I wanted to move to Orange for 30 quid and get shedloads of minutes and texts, plus free broadband - however my ISP (Supanet) is in administration and is not issuing MAC codes to protect their assets (ie: me), so migrating would have been a painful, if impossible, experience.

Similarly, O2's Customer Service is really shoddy - I called 5 times last week only to be holding for an average of 12 minutes each and every time - having to listen to that God-awful whale music which sounds like it is recorded at the Sea Life Centre - now, that is depressing.

I'm such a traitor to Orange, but I'll be back...

In The Settings menu, under the connectivity tab, check mobile networks is set on GSM and 3G and not just GSM.
If that doesn't make the 3G blue iscon come on on the top left in standby, then maybe your in an area without 3G coverage, or you're not using the new 3G SIM that came with the phone.

Does anyone know the default PIN2 that comes with this? I know the default PIN is 0000, but this isn't the PIN2. Just curious. Cheers

Check out the O2 website they have Texter tarrifs and Talker tarrifs.

Me and the other half both have the K800i now and I am on text and she is on talk(as she can chat for England).

BTW The games can be linked by bluetooth so you can play anyone else with a K800i.

I can honestly say that it's a case of 'so far so good' and I've had the phone for almost a week now. The phones I considered were the Nokia N80, Nokia N91 and the K800i but due to poor battery life with the two nokia's, i chose the K800i. I had the K750i prior to getting this and although the k800i is slightly larger, so is the screen and it no where near a 'brick'!! Anyway all i can say is go and buy one!!

Yep, thanks to Finglonga and playing about a bit more with the phone, the icon is the 3G indicator.

Really impressed with this so far, the screen's so clear and big, just the right size, before it attains "brick" status I think.

I've had this phone since September last year and I absolutely love it.

Quality camera, music player, radio & memory, easy menu, good looking, easy to use pc software - it is still the best phone on the market.

However . . . . the k800i has just been released and everything has been upgraded so I may have to upgrade too. this is the official link: http://www.sonyericsson.com/spg.jsp?...=pp1&pid=10407

But for a cheaper option today you cannot go wrong with the w800i

But this IS about the K800, not the W800.

The W800 is a walkman phone and therefore a different animal.

The K800 however is brilliant as said above slightly bigger than the 750 but not as you would notice. The camera is amazing and so is the battery life considering the flash is a proper camera flash not super bright LED's. The flash doesn't seem to drain the battery much at all.

The only thing lacking is no memory stick bundled with the phone so you will need to purchase one seperate if you want one.

Not the 3G indicator as mine is on also and our area is not covered by 3G but it is the GPRS signal bar.

I phone up 02 for an upgrade on thursday, they said it would be £50 but there isn't any in stock. Went into the 02 shop in Brighton, the guy showed me the demo. When I asked if it was in stock, I was surprised when he said Yes and I got it on free upgrade.

So I,m now the proud owner of a K800i and its a great phone.

Loving the phone!

If I was to buy one of these: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/3-5mm-Stereo-H...QQcmdZViewItem
would, I be able to listen to the radio still or does it actually need the headphones that come with it?

Does anyone know how to set up a pin number when you turn the phone on?

Just phoned up for mine and was told:
"the free K800i is for new customers only."
me: "well I can go onto another network and get this for free with a similar tarrif."
"well what I can do is pass you onto our 'specialist depatrnent'"
Lol, what a load of arse.

I'm now on a 12-month Online 500 tarriff (500 mins + 500 texts) for £35/mth. I've got 3 months free line rental and the phone.

Happy days!

I have a sony ericsson k750i and i've jsut rang o2 to try and haggle myself an upgrade to the k800i and the operator said 'because your only 6months into your contract we can't offer you a new handset, you will have to wait until your 12 months are up and then ugrade when the time comes'. I tried by asking to cancel my account as the phone i have is now unsuitable and i wasn't happy with it or the tariff that i'm currently on and i could get a much better deal else where and she said 'if it's a cancellation that you want then i can put you through to the cancellations department but becuase your only 6 months into your contract you will have to pay off the remainding cost of your current handset'

How the hell do you all do it? It didn't work for me!
