Physically its slightly bigger bigger screen too and feels alot better made, the phone seems to be quicker at accesing the files where my old 750 seemed slower(not by much but it was slower). Slightly better user interface, Better games, Video calling (in 3G areas) other than that its vertually the same as the k750i.

I've just noticed that the K800i is out on T-Mobile now... which is great timing as I was planning to join before July 31st (when they're £20 extra credit runs out!).

Does anyone know if it'll come locked to T-Mobile? I've bought handsets in the past which have come unlocked (W800i on O2 and Pink RAzR on Orange).

If I went to a T-Mobile store could they show me on a different handset if it was locked? (I don't want to break the security seal on a new handset they give me...)

Also... I see on the T-Mobile website that the K800i is going for £29.99. My current network O2 offered me a free upgrade to this handset... so is it possible at a T-Mobile store (or Telesales line) for them to match the price and give it for free if I tell them that if they don't I'll just stick with O2?

Any thoughts apprechiated!

My sister just got one of these phones from Phones4U. Half Price Line rental for 9 months meaning she pays just £22.50 a month, then after those 9 months she can adjust the £45 a month plan down to something nearer what she wants to pay a month ideally £22. They doubled her monthly voice minutes and texts. Plus they gave her £80 cash in her hand to walk out the store with. Seemed like a good deal on the phone at the time.

However I told her she'd been better going on T-Mobile Flext 20 and getting the phone through them. Not too sure what next work she's been lumbered with from Phones4U but it could be 3 looking at the phone.

I ended up getting mine from http://www.expansys.com/ for just over £300 but that is sim-free. O2 gave a lot of grief about getting a 3G card. After 3 days of calling and going in to the O2 shops they finally sent one.

I had already decided to try Vodafone then though and am now on their pay-as-you-go contract with mobile tv enabled for £10 per month for all channels, might cut that down a bit after the free month! In the 2 days I have been on vodafone with the exception of setting the phone up I have been very impressed with the 3G coverage and quality.

Too the phone to the motorshow in London this week, the quality of the images are well upto spec of my 5MP Sony camera.

Hi there,

I'm interested in getting the K800 - I currently have the W810i - however, through VF's 'Recommend A Friend' service, he could well join VF, and I may have the K800 he's given, and he can take my W810i. However, I have a few questions on that:-

1. Whilst the music player on the K800i is likely to be far inferior to the W810i's, can I still shuffle and loop which are two features that I use on the W810i's media player.

2. (a) With the Pro Duo, I can take media to/from the card using my card reader - can this be done using the K800i's M2 card?

2. (b) Will my card reader, can the M2 card be read in any of those ports?

2. (c) Can I run the Pro Duo card in the K800 until I can get an M2 card, or are they physically differently-sized?

2. (d) What is the largest M2 size - I understand 256MB is the smallest? Anything supplied with it?

3. Are the earphones that arrive with the K800 any good?

4. Can this phone synchronise with OL 2003 properly?

Thanks very much ,

Alex -

Anyone know when the "W" Walkman version of the K800i is coming out?

Clearly the K800i, not having a W button and coming with no external memory is being marketed as a Cybershot phone... just wondering when the snazzy looking Walkman version with memory and super headphones etc (but of course the same 3.2 megapixel camera + shell). I guess we have a while to wait as the W810i JUST came out.

Anyone know what the W version is going to be called? I thought it was the "coming soon" W850i but that's only a 2 megapixel camera.

Yes and Yes

2. (a) With the Pro Duo, I can take media to/from the card using my card reader - can this be done using the K800i's M2 card?

Yes

2. (b) Will my card reader, can the M2 card be read in any of those ports?

Yes but you need to use the adapter supplied with the M2card

2. (c) Can I run the Pro Duo card in the K800 until I can get an M2 card, or are they physically differently-sized?

No its less than half the size of the duo See See

2. (d) What is the largest M2 size - I understand 256MB is the smallest? Anything supplied with it?

I have the 1Gb thats the biggest at the moment but Sony say they will go up to 32Gb. The phone comes without a card.

3. Are the earphones that arrive with the K800 any good?

hi i got a few questions,

i see in the argos catalogue that the k800i is coming to o2 paygo at the end of august. however i went into my local o2 store and they said it wasn't coming to paygo, is this true?

is the k800i likely to come on paygo on other networks?

what other phones would you recommend that are as good as the k800i and that are avaliable on paygo?

cheers

I tend to find the more expensive phones don't come on payg (could be wrong?) I got mine from expansys for about £289 now but that's sim-free, You can then use it on any network. I am payg and went from O2 to Vodafone so I could use the mobile tv but once you get it you can choose the network.

I have had the K800i for a couple of weeks now and it is a superb phone, the camera is fantastic.
Couple of very minor issues - on the organiser I can't change sound alert for a calendar entry or to do task. It just beeps once, which means you can easily miss the alert. Anybody know how to change it so I can use a louder, longer ringtone?

Thanks.

Just want to say, got this phone on Vodafone last Thursday, along with a 1GB memory card, and it's by far the best phone I have ever owned. Camera quality is excellent, MP3 feature works well, call quality is awesome and I am getting a signal where my Samsung and Nokias have struggled.

One little question, does anyone else's speaker sound a little "shakey"/crackely when the volume is up full and you are playing a loud song? Turn it down half a notch and the crackle goes.
